NHL goes comical

Hockey fans will have more heroes to cheer for when the NHL launches the Guardian Project at this year's All Star game.

Leafs fans begging for a hero to dig their team out of the depths of the NHL basement now have one. The NHL has partnered with comic book legend Stan Lee's SLG Entertainment and POW! Entertainment on The Guardian Project, developing comic superheroes for all 30 teams. Each character has been created with the input of the specific teams, with abilities suited to match the feel of the team and the region it plays in.
Wondering what your favourite team's superhero looks like? Look no further. Click to find out and get a brief description of its abilities, courtesy of the NHL.

The Maple Leaf (Right)
A giant walking and talking maple tree. An immovable object that can grow exponentially larger at will.

The Avalanche(left)
